AI rewriter for text you plan to send
Open the model list at the top of the chat in the app. The Generators group sits after Image; choose Rewriter. An empty generator chat opens with a welcome message that holds the settings. The sliders button beside the message box opens the same controls later, and the browser remembers your choices for this generator.
Type the request with the source text, paste the draft directly, or attach a document. A support reply, cover letter, essay paragraph, social post or quick message all use the same workflow. The rewording tool works only from what you supply and does not look up material on the web.
Five actions: proofread, paraphrase, shorten, expand or simplify
Proofread is the default. It fixes errors and changes nothing else, so use it when the substance and voice are already right. Paraphrase keeps the meaning and gives it new wording. This is the ordinary paraphrasing tool action for a sentence or a whole attached document.
Shorten keeps the essentials and aims for about half the length. It can serve as an AI summarizer for supplied text, but it does not research or add outside facts. Expand develops what is already there. Simplify acts as a text simplifier, replacing difficult phrasing with plain language while keeping the point.
AI proofreader and grammar checker with visible changes
The Show changes switch is on by default. The answer ends with a Changes list that says what was altered and why. That makes the tool useful as an AI proofreader or grammar checker when you need to approve each edit rather than accept an unexplained replacement.
The list is also useful when the sentence rewriter makes a judgment call. A technically correct sentence may still be too abrupt for a client or too elaborate for a text message. You can compare the reason with your intent, reject an edit, or run a lighter version. The point is to check before you send.
Control how far the paraphraser moves from the original
How far from the original has three levels. Light makes the smallest change. Medium gives the paraphraser more room to recast sentences, while Strong may restructure the passage. Pick the distance independently from the action: a Light paraphrase and a Strong simplification solve different problems.
Tone is separate as well. Keep the text's own preserves the register already on the page. Neutral, Formal, Friendly, Confident and Casual give the model a clear target when the original voice isn't right for the recipient. If you simply want to proofread before sending, keep the original tone and use Light distance.
Rewrite my email, message or cover letter
For “rewrite my email,” include the draft and say what is wrong with it: too long, unclear, stiff or easy to misread. Choose Shorten when the recipient needs the decision quickly, Proofread when the email is already settled, or Paraphrase when the wording needs a clean second attempt. For a new message written from scratch, the separate email writer starts with the purpose and recipient instead.
The same distinction applies to cover letters and posts. Rewriter changes supplied copy. The social post generator creates network-specific post copy and can add a picture, while the resume and cover letter generator builds a finished job-application document from your experience and the posting.
Reword text in the same language or another one
By default, the result stays in the language of the source. You can instead select any of 80 languages. This lets you simplify an English policy in English, paraphrase a Spanish letter in Spanish, or deliberately request another language. When the job is translation rather than rewriting, the AI translator provides translation-specific settings and notes about ambiguity.
Paste text or attach a document
A pasted source is quickest for a few paragraphs. For longer material, attach a DOCX, PDF, TXT, Markdown, CSV, XLSX or another supported document and explain which part needs work. The source is structured from the file you provide. It is never looked up on the web, and there is no web-search setting in Rewriter.
The tool does not claim to detect AI text, “humanize” writing to beat a detector or check plagiarism. Those are different tasks, and a rewrite cannot establish authorship or originality. Rewriter's job is narrower: change the supplied words according to the action and show you what it did.
Six fixed model choices
Rewriter has six rows: ChatGPT Luna, Claude Haiku, Gemini Flash, Grok, ChatGPT Terra and Claude Sonnet. Each row uses that fixed model, with no Smart router choosing a different tier. You can run the same source through another row when you want a second wording.
Copy or download the rewritten text
The result renders as a text card in the chat. Copy it directly, download DOCX for a word processor, save Markdown for a plain-text workflow, or use the print dialog for PDF. These files are built in the browser. Unlike a document or a deck, a rewrite has no Library section — it stays in its chat, the way an email or a translation does.
What it costs
The rewriter runs on paid models and uses credits. There is no web step, so the charge is the model's work on your text alone; the exact amount appears under the answer. See the pricing page for packs and subscriptions.
Privacy, stated honestly
We store nothing on our side: there is no archive of chats or files, and the task row exists only while the answer is produced. There is no personal profile, no chat is associated with you, and the request reaches the model provider as a stranger's; your email is used only for account access and payment. Your material is never used for training.
Secret Chat AI removes you from your queries — it does not remove the data from your messages. Anything you paste or attach is sent to the chosen provider verbatim, so leave out names and other identifiers yourself.
