AI Table Generator:
From a Request to an Excel Spreadsheet

An AI table generator turns a written request, pasted data or an attached file into a usable spreadsheet. Secret Chat AI is for people who need the rows arranged before they open Excel or Google Sheets. You choose the model family, and the finished XLSX is built in your browser as a real file.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok are trademarks of their respective owners (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI). Secret Chat AI is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. See our Disclaimers.

How the AI table generator works

  • Open the app and use the model picker at the top of the chat.
  • Find the Generators group, just after Image, and choose Table.
  • Pick ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok. The welcome message holds the same controls as the sliders button, and the browser remembers these settings for this generator.
  • Choose how to handle the data, set columns and formatting, then type the request or press Generate.
  • Review the sortable table and its sheet tabs on the card. Download the file or copy the cells in the format you need.

The result also appears under Tables in the Library. A desktop can open it in the side viewer; on a phone, its download actions remain on the card.

Table from text

Describe the columns and rows in ordinary words: “Make a content calendar with date, channel, owner, topic and status,” or “Turn these expenses into a monthly budget.” The Columns field is useful when their names and order matter. Leave it blank when the model should work out the structure from the request.

It covers schedules, calendars, budgets and lists without a separate form for each; you still check the dates and figures.

Table from a PDF, Word file or pasted data

Choose structure my text or file when the source already exists. Paste the material or attach PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, an image, Markdown, code or ZIP. The table maker structures what you supplied; it never looks up missing material in this mode.

That distinction matters when a PDF table has broken columns or a long Word file contains repeated records. Tell the generator what one row represents and name any fields you want kept. It can also use a project file as the source.

Spreadsheet generator: XLSX with sheet tabs

The result is an online spreadsheet card with sortable columns and sheet tabs. Its XLSX workbook is built with SheetJS in your browser, rather than rendered on our servers. This is the practical part of using AI and Excel together: you get an Excel file, not a picture of a grid.

The same card works as a CSV file creator and CSV generator. You can download CSV, copy the table as Markdown, or use Copy for Google Sheets. Build the structure here, then open or paste it into the spreadsheet app you use.

Tables from the web

Turn on Collect data from the web when the rows depend on current public information. This option is paid. A source table is returned when the research finds enough usable data.

The table generator does not return an empty grid. If web data is unavailable, it can use the model's own knowledge and marks that material as approximate. Check those values before using the sheet for a budget, schedule or report.

Totals, number formats, currency, row limits

Choose US or EU number formatting and set the currency before generating. A totals row is on by default, but it is added only to columns where a sum means something. IDs, ratings and dates are not treated as amounts just because they contain numbers.

Max rows can be set to 50, 200 or 1000. The Data setting can decide automatically, structure your material, or generate a dataset. Together, these controls make the AI spreadsheet predictable enough for a small list or a larger working sheet.

From table to chart in one click

Every Table card has a Chart button. It opens a new chat in the Chart generator with this table as the source, so you do not have to attach or paste it again. The chart generator then decides which chart types suit the shape of the data and lets you switch among those choices.

Which model builds the table

  • ChatGPT — the default family for a new table chat.
  • Claude — uses Claude Sonnet for tables.
  • Gemini — available from the same model row.
  • Grok — available from the same model row.

Each family routes a plain request to a fast tier, a hard request to its flagship, and a web task to its search tier. DeepSeek is not offered for generators.

What you can download

Download XLSX or CSV. The card also provides Copy as Markdown and Copy for Google Sheets. The XLSX and CSV contain the table data; the on-screen card keeps sorting and sheet tabs for review inside the chat.

What the AI spreadsheet costs

The Table generator runs on paid models and uses credits. Web collection costs extra and is marked paid in the settings. The exact charge appears under the answer; see pricing and credit options before you generate.

Privacy, stated honestly

  • We store nothing on our side. There is no archive of chats or files on our servers. The task row exists only while the answer is produced.
  • Your request is anonymous. There is no profile, and no chat is ever associated with you. The provider receives a stranger's request. Your email is used only for account access and payment.
  • Your material is never used for training.

What you paste or attach is sent verbatim to the chosen model provider. Secret Chat AI removes you from your queries — it does not remove the data from your messages. Leave out names and identifiers the model does not need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can ChatGPT create an Excel file?
Yes. Choose ChatGPT in the Table generator, describe the sheet, and download the result as an XLSX file. The workbook is built in your browser with SheetJS.
Can AI turn a PDF table into a spreadsheet?
Yes. Attach the PDF, choose “structure my text or file,” and tell the generator which information belongs in the spreadsheet. It structures the material in the attachment and does not look up replacement data.
Does the table have formulas?
The generator can add a totals row with computed values where a sum makes sense. Those values are not live spreadsheet formulas. You can add or change formulas after opening the XLSX file in Excel.
Can I get the table as CSV?
Yes. Every table can be downloaded as CSV as well as XLSX. You can also copy it as Markdown or in a format ready to paste into Google Sheets.
How many rows can it make?
The Max rows setting offers 50, 200 or 1000. Pick the cap that fits the task before you generate the table.
Can I open the table in Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the XLSX or CSV file and open it in Google Sheets, or use Copy for Google Sheets and paste the cells into a sheet.
